After shirley's engagement party and chin an's farewell, darling stayed over at my place, cos we will be leaving early in the morning to go to Harborfront to hope on to a ferry and get to Batam! waiting for the mrt time check when we got on the nel.. 7:50am. ample time to reach and check in at 820pm.
So obvious that darling jus woke up... all the puffy eyes..
Our destination, Harborfront.
After getting our ferry tickets, we had our fave McGriddles Breakfast!
This is how our ferry looks like but only it isnt here yet.. departure is only like 9.30am. but we came like 830am to check in.. pengz.. i'll be smarter next time.
Waiting. so camwhore. haha.
Finally in the ferry...
The ferry hasnt even embarked and darling already.... slept....

And here we are!
Our tour guide is called Henry... And so is our bus driver. Gua.. He says if we wan to be kings and queens in Indonesia. its very easy. Jus buy any island, cos they have like 7000+ islands in indonesia. gua. And we happen to pass by one for sale... Gua gua gua.. he says buy the island and buy a boat. when its high tide, stay on the boat... bleah. lame. our first stop is the largest and longest bridge in Batam. If you have nvr seen this bridge, you have not been in batam.
Back onto the bus..
We then headed to the largest temple in SEA which is in Batam, so the tour guide says...But along the way, we had some little facts abt Indonesia. Henry says that Indonesia, esp those in Batam dont like to stay in condos. they prefer to stay in Landed properties (which they paint in very bright colors 2 times a year).
The condo you see above has been empty since it was built 6 years ago.. do i sense some paranomal activity?? hmmm... Alas here we are at the temple.
We had F&E time to walk ard the temple to see.

Goddess but not godess of mercy.. Apparently I was asking for the "qian" for too long in front of her until my hands were so tired and I forgot to take a photo of her..
Hungry man... We headed to a tourist shop to buy some tidbits and snacks.... then headed for seafood lunch.
1st buy of the day... the shop is jus beside 933 restuarant where we will be having our seafood lunch.
This is probably wad we are gg to eat.... After which we headed to a dry goods shop, then went to 2 other shopping malls to shop before the day ends with a very heavy rain... The ferry back was damn shaky but thk god i took my motionsickness pills before that. I couldnt sleep on the ride, so i ended up watching Mr Bean on the ferry TV.

Some thoughts for the trip:
1) It was a good exploration for me cos every wk end is jus shopping in Sg. Boredom. So it was a pretty refreshing trip.
2) Things in batam are tad cheap until can die. Some of my buys:-
Cost in Singapore: S$7.80 Cost in Batam after conversion: S$4.20 or less.. dArling wanted to plunge a knife in his heart.. so cheapppp!! he says he will only take doughnuts when he go batam. haha..
Prune Kueh Lapis.. SGD22..
Everlast tee: SGD7, Polo Tee: SGD9, Baby Tee: SGD6, Bras ranging from SGD4 to SGD9. Gua gua gua.. cheap... darling says I am very mean. I dun even want cheap things in Batam, I want dirt cheap things.. SGD9 I not happy, I must buy $4 then i song... haha. Darling bot a basketball for $10..
The basket ball story is really lame. Initially the ball alone costs $12. if we buy 2 items, we can get 20% of items. So darling got the needle so he can pump the ball. And so, the total cost of the ball and the needle is... $11. diao! where in Singapore will you ever buy 2 things and they cost cheaper than 1 item itself... NVR....
And of cos, some tidbits and snacks....
I would like to go to Batam again, cos It was nice to shop. hee. cheap and cheap!! I will be planning one soon, any joiners? (other than my mother) haha..
It was shirley and chin an's engagement party and also chin an's farewell last sat on the 22nd Nov cos he was gg to Shanghai for work. Darling and I decided to go in the same color. hee. Green!! i'm short but amazing. i can fit a maxi dress (of cos with my heels) hee.
The party was held at a boutique hotel called Naumi Hotel along Seah Street. The room was really nice. It was zen yet cosy. The toilets were also very nice. everything was very tastefully done up.

Like darling and i are wearing green. Jieying and Zq were also in team colors Yellow! haha. so so cool. We did not agree before hand to come in the same colors as our other halves. Just pure telepathy. hee.

Absolutely fantastic chair/bed/couch, jus my size! Jieying concluded that it was a very good idea for babies cos it would be pretty safe cos its like surrounded and when the kid grows, can still fit!
Fantastic view of the Raffles City and the CBD area on the top of the hotel by the pool. Its amazing how a building only at level 10... can capture such a marvelous view of Singapore.
