Egyptian cuts off penis 10 min-->

QENA (Egypt) - AN EGYPTIAN cut off his own penis on Sunday in protest at his parents' choice of bride, a police official said.
The 25-year-old labourer from the village of Sheikh Eissa in southern Egypt was taken to hospital in stable condition, the official said, adding that the man had also mutilated his testicles.
'He was in love with a woman but his parents rejected her and told him to marry another woman he didn't want. He took a knife and cut off his penis in his room.'
Doctors were unable to reattach the severed member, the official added. -- AFP

Appraisal
Posted by 11:19 AM with 0 notes | add more notes

Arrived back on SG on 31st may and got an sms from Jasmine asking me if I have seen my year end review appraisal. And so I’m back at work today and finally got a chance to see the year end review by my manager.

And so apparently, a lot of my explanations did not really sink into my PM. I have explained to him that I have made improvements after we have spoken the first time around and he has asked the seniors if I have shown any improvements and they said I did (thou of cos not a lot)

But the appraisal really wasn't very positive. 40% of what I was supposed to achieve met expectation, the rest of the 60% fell slightly below expectation. What can I say? The Partner was pretty concerned about my performance and requests that I make immediate improvements.

My overall opinion: Not promoting (I believe). But my Australia trip has allowed me to do a fair bit of thinking and soul searching.

My conclusion: I will continue to stay even I am not promoted because I have more to gain than to lose if I were to stay. Firstly, by the time I get my CPA, I’m not even suffering as a senior yet. Secondly, I don't want to break my momentum yet. I want to learn more and take it away with me when I leave and to be able to use it for the future. Lastly, I don't want my parents to get worried that I wont be able to find a job should I quit now.
