My complain to ShittyBank abt their Shitty Services
Posted by Monday, March 29, 2010 5:30 PM with 0 notes | add more notes

I applied for a Dividend Credit Card and an upgrade of my Citiclear card to a Platinum one between 2-5th March 2010 online and has sent all relevant supporting documents (i.e. I/C, payslips etc) to your company to process the application. I received a call from the customer service/application services staff (named Utt) to request that I send the relevant documents to them. I advised that I have done so. Subsequently about a week later, the same staff called and advise me to send those documents again as he did not receive anything. With much disappointment, I refilled the application form and submitted soft copies of the documents again. The staff called me back again a couple of days later to request for me to either submit my CPF statement online or provide a company appointment letter showing the salary amount. I explained to him that the CPF statement may not reflect that my income has reached the minimum salary per annum as I recently just had a pay rise and hence it would be more accurate for me to furnish the payslip. He then said that the payslips that I have provided are not strong enough as they are printed out online. Regardless, immediately after the phone call, I went to submit my CPF online statement to CPF to allow your company to see my monthly CPF contributions. Couple of days later he called again, saying that he did not receive the CPF contribution (which I would have already done twice by now) but it was fine as he could rely on the payslips but he would have to obtain 2 payslips and a letter from my company showing my pay raise again (which I have already submitted online to him earlier on). With much disdain, I decided to send him 3 payslips and the letter from my company.

On the 26th March 2010, only the Platinum card came through my mail with a printed indication of a credit limit of $500. I was shocked! I was beginning to wonder, why did I go through so much with the service staff only to receive a card with a credit limit of my old credit card? In addition, what happened to the dividend card that I also applied for. Upset, I decided to go to Bishan Branch the next day to settle this matter once and for all. The branch staff (Jason Tan, Senior Sales Officer) apologized that the credit limit was a printing error which I accepted, they also said they will process the application for my Dividend card immediately (I brought all the relevant supporting documents) and that I will receive a call in 4 Hours with news that I could collect my card. I asked if I could have any kind of compensation, since this whole matter dragged for a month, I was turned down to much disappointment. Just when I thought this whole matter was resolved, not only did no one call me for the rest of the day, I sent my fiance (who has a sub-card under my Dividend card) to collect my card on my behalf who was rejected by the staff to collect as he was not the main cardholder. Can’t Citibank exercise more flexibility? I did not just send any random person to collect the card, it was a sub cardholder, whom the branch staff could have easily checked his identification. I brushed it off and decided to collect the card on the next day.

I returned on Sunday, only to be advised by the staff that the cards will only arrive that the Bishan branch at 1pm. I was there at 12nn. Worse, she called me back after 1pm to advise me that she doesn’t have any of my cards with her and to think that I was promised that the card would be ready in 4 hours. She further explained that the application was still under processing. I was appalled and informed her that I no longer wish to collect the card from the branch and request it to be sent to me. I could not understand why the Dividend card could not be issued within 4 hours since my Platinum Card was approved and issued. Don’t they both have the same minimum income and needed the same documents?

I applied the application for the Dividend card when there was a promotion through online application, I did not receive any of the promotions/gifts. Secondly, I was persistently hogged to provided documents which I have already submitted in both hard and soft copies. Thirdly, I was made a promise that I could have my cards the same day, which did not happen. Lastly, no one offered any form of compensation for the inconveniences that I had to experience throughout the entire month. I am very disappointed.

First day at Work

First day at work at CAG. No computer in the morning, so spent my time reading financial manuals, getting introduced to my division, which is the revenue division. Had a meeting with the head of division, talked about my roles and what are the issues that are lurking currently. My buddy was from KPMG also I think she left as an AM. She’s quite nice and protective, telling me that I have to be smart anything ask her first before agreeing to do for other people. Had my laptop shortly after lunch, so went to their IT dept to config and everything. Was praying for a desktop actually cos that means the chance of bringing work home is lower. But too bad, it was not to be, I have a laptop. Boo. And I also have my own desk, will be shifting into my own cubicle I think after a couple of months when the reno is completed. Went to meet my godsis at 4pm at T2, cos she was picking a friend up after a flight and then going to meet another friend at the SQ training centre. We had a small chat and then I went back to office, decided to blog cos I think today I have some free time, next time I think tough chance. Working hours is 830 to 6pm (officially), unofficially there could be OT of course and since their closing is like March, I’m in for another peak period. How timely right? Well not going to think (too) much, I’m just going to take things one at a time at my manageable pace (like my buddy says, slowly, she’s been there for 5 months and she is still adjusting, god I think I will take forever). Hopefully it’s not too slow until I get a bad appraisal. But for sure I will try my best.

p/s: I will be applying for another credit card, the OCBC platinum. So that I can instalment any furniture that we’ll be buying (hope darling’s mother is paying) from IKEA.

p/s/s: Why hasn’t Eugene of M Hotel called me? I want to hear some good news soon. Please.
